Meeting Summary (7-10-08)
I've decided to stop writing down the attendees of the meeting, because that doesn't matter much. Not everyone can make it because half of our staff is on the other side of the planet and time zone issues override their ability to attend.
This past week has been amazing for the growth of our CG staff. We went from 32 to 46 people in a week. That is one heck of a jump! Most of the new people are compositors, which is exactly what we needed at this stage of the game, so that we can get the footage keyed and cleaned for the future compositing tasks of adding in the virtual set backgrounds, VFX layers, CG character animations, etc. And as a greedy Director, I want more!
The meeting today was great. I went down the list of all the staff, noted what they were working on, and then we discussed any issues or updates that we're pertinent. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased with the way things are going. More people means more productivity.
I extend major kudos to one of our virtual set modelers. James Willmott, owner of Symmetrix3D, an architecture firm in Australia (http://www.symmetrix3d.com), has done some amazing work related to the Super Star Destroyer Engine Room set. Pics of his most recent update can be seen on the Concept Art / Models page. The man has picked my brain and delivered a great set...and it's not totally complete yet!
That's all. Thanks to all of you who subscribe to the website. Thanks to all of you who visit the website. Thanks to everyone who continues to make this thing possible.
