Meeting Summary (7-3-08)
Attendees: Douglas Mallette, George Muhs, Yuliansun Harjanto, Will Harrison, James Willmott, Carlo Dandridge
Wow has this been a busy week. So much going on and many new additions to the team. We'll start with that.
Welcome...
Andrew Davidson - Modeling the Sith Temple.
Ellery Connell - Modeling (or Matte Painting) the X-wing, A-wing and Tie Fighter Cockpits.
Joe Gaffney - Compositing the scenes located in the Mon Calamari Bridge "The Protector".
Marco Bernier - Modeling the Alzoc III Monitoring Station, starting mid-August.
Shaun Williams - Modeling the Imperial Shuttle Aft Section.
Will Harrison - Working the Shuttle Cockpit by adding CG bells and whistles to make the set look better.
Todd Widup (with Wife and friend Geordie Martinez) - Working the CG Character rigging and animation of Jedi Master Ostar (the Kaminoan Jedi sitting on the Emergency Council) as well as the compositing of the scenes in the Emergency Council Chambers. With Todd and his "crew" we have landed a gold mine of experience. I'll list some of the movies they've worked on to give you an idea of what I mean. Todd: SW - Episode III, LOTR - Return of the King, Golden Compass; Todd's Wife (name pending...lol) - Sin City, LOTR - Return of the King, Narnia 2; Geordie Martinez: Fantastic 4, Rise of the Silver Surfer. Todd and Geordie or listed on IMDB.com, and I bet Todd's wife is too once I get her name. I'm pretty excited and grateful to get help in general for this film, but let's just say I am uber stoked about getting Todd and his crew.
Several pic updates will be added today, so check those out. Detailed discussions regarding modeling, space battle, compositing, etc. went on. Let's just say we've come up with something pretty awesome for the film, but of curse I'm not telling you all what it is. Evil Director perogative.
There is a strong chance this website will be getting a major overhaul in the next month. We're talking about going from the current basic look to a Flash look with sound effects and a much more "Star Wars" vibe. No time line on that, but it's coming soon.
As you can see, things are going great. Make sure you always keep your eyes peeled for new things on the website.
